Project "Emotional culture and Identity"
Alejandro N. García gave a course on "Culture and Society" at the International University of Catalunya on November 4-8. He also gave on course on "The theory of organizations" at the University of Istmo (Guatemala).
Pilar León was the organizer and speaker of the program "Clinical Ethics: relationships among doctors", organized by the Deontological Committee of the Official College of Doctors of Navarra from October 23 – November 16. She also acted as a speaker in the XVIII PADIS – Programa de Alta Direcção de Instituições de Saúde, celebrated on November 18 by AESE-Escola de Direcção e Negócios in Oporto (Portugal). Her talk focused on "Ethics in Hospital Institutions"
Lourdes Flamarique gave a talk on "Lifestyles and cultural change" at the ISEM Fashion Business School, in Madrid.
Aurora Bernal gave a talk on "Emotional skills and leadership" at the XXXII Seminario Interuniversitario de Teoría de la Educación (Interuniversity Seminar of Educational Theory), organized by the University of Cantabria, November 10 - 13.
Education on affectivity and human sexuality
Jokin de Irala and Carlos Beltramo were participating speakers at the VI Congreso Internacional Provida, celebrated in Guayaquil (Ecuador) on November 8 - 10. Jokin de Irala gave two conferences titled "Bioethical aspects that affect the family" and "Promoting birth-control and sex education". The conferences given by Carlos Beltramo were "Why do we pro-life supporters work so hard but achieve so little? In addition, these two speakers gave a training session on "Training in the use of didactic materials for sex education" at the Colegio Irabia (Pamplona). Jokin de Irala also gave a conference titled "Parents committed to the happiness of their children" at the school "Colegio Nuestra Señora del Pilar" in Arequipa (Peru) on November el 5 and he spoke at the charitable event of RedMadre in Vigo, giving a talked titled "They also want to know".
Project "Natural law and practical rationality"
Alejandro Vigo was in Chile November 18-22 giving one of the best conferences of the IV Congreso Internacional de Fenomenología y Hermenéutica, organized by the Universidad Nacional Andrés Bello, of Santiago de Chile. He also gave a talk at the Universidad de los Andes.
Mariano Crespo participated in the X Congreso Internacional de la Sociedad Española de Fenomenología (X International Congress of the Spanish Society of Phenomenology), ‘Phenomenology, experience and reasoning. 2013. In the one hundredth anniversary of Ideas I', which took place in Barcelona on November 27 – 29, Mr. Crespo gave a talk titled "some difficulties of the teleological-theological yield of the Husserliana ethics".
Project "Mind-brain"
Nathaniel Barret attended the annual meeting of the American Academy of Religion, celebrated in Baltimore, November 23 - 26.
Javier Bernácer and Luis Echarte presented two posters at the annual meeting of the International Neuroethics Society (November 8) and of the Society for Neuroscience (November 9- 13), both of which took place in San Diego (California, USA). The first work was titled "The Problem of Disembodiment in Andy Clark's Approach to Human Identity" and the title of the second poster was "Medicalization of Emotions and the Paradox of Authenticity".
Navarra Center for International Development
Luis Ravina traveled to the Philippines (October 31 – November 12). His objective was to establish contacts for future research of the central part of the country.
Luis Alberiko Gil-Alaña was in Strathmore University, in Nairobi (Kenya), November 18 - 22. He gave a course on Econometry. In addition, his visit gave him the opportunity to work with Robert Mudida, NCID collaborator, and to maintain contact with the Banco Mundial.
Pedro Mendi was in New York on November 23-27 to work with Luis Cabral, at the New York University Stern.
Project ‘ATLANTES'
Carlos Centeno participated in the scientific committee meeting at the Hospital de Cuidados Laguna (Madrid) on November 22. He also attended the INSUP-C's General Assembly meeting: Integrated Palliative Care, organized by the European Commission (FP7 Health Innovation 2012) along with Eduardo Garralda, in Lovaina (Belgium) on November 8.
Project "Religion and civil society"
Montserrat Herrero gave a talk titled "La teología política de San Agustín en De Civitate Dei" at the international seminar ‘Amores duo, civitates duas. Reler De Civitate Dei de Sto. Agostinho', organized by IFP - Instituto de Filosofia Prática en la Universidade da Beira Interior (Portugal) on November 14-15.
Angela Miceli presented a talk entitled "Earfully and Wonderfully Made: The Body and Human Identity" at the annual international conference which took `place at the University of Notre Dame Center for Ethics and Culture (Notre Dame du Lac University, Indiana, EE.UU. She also formed part in the organization of the event and acted as moderator for the "Public Health" table.
Raquel Lázaro spoke to an audience with a talk titled "Las condiciones de la libertad religiosa" (Conditions of Religious Freedom) at the International Conference "San Josemaría y el pensamiento teológico", which took place on November 14-16 at the Pontificia Università della Santa Croce (Italy).
