The University of Navarra will launch a new Master in Social Science Research (MSSR) starting in the 2016-2017 academic year. This graduate degree is built upon over fifty years of research experience at the University of Navarra, which trains interdisciplinary researchers in both the social sciences and other scientific fields.

The Institute for Culture and Society, in direct collaboration with the Schools of Communication, Law, Education and Psychology, Nursing, and Humanities and Social Sciences, coordinates the program, which is currently in an accreditation process.

Six different concentrations

The MSSR is offered as a first step for students who wish to work in interdisciplinary social science research. The master's program allows for six different concentrations, including in communication, geography, linguistics, education, law and nursing.

The curriculum consists of 60 credits, divided into four modules as follows: the theoretical-critical module (12 credits), the methodological-instrumental module (18 credits) the concentration module (12 credits) and the master's thesis module (18 credits).

Students in the program will receive training in methodological tools and analytical skills that will enable them to carry out quantitative and qualitative studies on social and cultural realities, as well as take up interdisciplinary work in a wide range of companies and public and private organizations.

Graduates will also be qualified to begin a doctoral program or to work as social and cultural analysts on interdisciplinary teams at institutes and foundations that perform social research and market studies
