Communication Integrated Circuits (COMMIC)

The mission of the COMMIC research group is creating a better society through the design of integrated systems in different areas such as Space, Telecommunications, Mobility, Health, etc. Within these areas our cross-disciplinary research focuses on the following three fields:

  • RF, microwave and millimeter-wave wireless technologies, exploring the limits of high-performance analog and digital electronic circuits. Topics of interest include high speed ADCs for broadband communications, wireless communication systems for IoT, Self-healing receivers and transmitters, Radar systems, etc.

  • Energy harvesting systems, exploring the limits for ultra-low power and supply voltage analog and digital electronic circuits. Topics of interest include Energy harvesting circuits for Solar, Thermal, Vibration and RF, fully passive wireless sensors nodes based on RFID technologies, etc.

  • Sensor systems, exploring CMOS technologies for the integration of different kind of low power, low cost, high performance sensors. Topics of interest include Biosensors, temperature sensors, et
