The authors include Miguel García-Valdecasas, Nathaniel Barrett, and José Víctor Orón, in collaboration with Luis Echarte, Gloria del Carmen Balderas and José Manuel Giménez-Amaya
Several experts from the Mind-Brain project at the Institute for Culture and Society (ICS) published papers in the new issue of the interdisciplinary journal Scientia et Fides. This biannual publication aims to rigorously present the research work being done within the relationship between science and religion.
Researcher Miguel García-Valdecasas is the author of the article "La Metafísica de la mente de A. Kenny: 25 años después" (The Metaphysics of the Mind of A. Kenny: 25 years later). In addition, doctoral student José Víctor Oron wrote "Neurociencia y fe: El sistema de creencias como lugar de encuentro interdisciplinar" (Neuroscience and Faith: The belief system as an interdisciplinary meeting place).
Various collaborators from this ICS project have also published several contributions. Gloria del Carmen Rosas Balderas developed the article "Homunculi, the mereological falacy and crypto-dualism. Two dilemmas for the intentional stance" (Homunculi, the mereological falacy and crypto-dualism. Two dilemmas for the intentional stance). José Manuel Giménez-Amaya, director of the research group Science, Reason and Faith (Ciencia, razón y fe - CRYF), authored, in collaboration with Sergio Sánchez-Migallón, an article entitled "Phenomenological analysis of the emotional life and a note on its neurobiological correlation" and Luis Echarte wrote "Teleological markers: Seven lines of hypotheses around Dennett's theory of habits."
Finally, research fellow Nathaniel Barrett reviewed Wayne Wu's Attention (2014).
Scientia et Fides offers free access to its contents through an open access digital platform sponsored by the University of Torun. Some of the articles are published in Polish, some in English and some in Spanish. The journal's director is Javier Sánchez Cañizares, an ICS researcher and professor in the School of Ecclesiastical Philosophy.
The Mind-Brain project of ICS receives funding from the La Caixa Obra Social program.
