First Edition of the Winter Programme
The School of Economics and Business Administration’s International Office, in coordination with Institute of Spanish Language and Culture (ILCE), organized the first edition of the Winter Programme

The students, who came from Tongji University in Shanghai, China and Queensland University of Technology in Brisbane, Australia, lived a full immersion in Spain through Spanish language and culture classes, where they also learned the basics about Sevillanas and flamenco dancing.
The students also participated in the different seminars and classes on European economics. The classes included one on eurozone macroeconomics taught by Mirko Abbritti, an entrepreneurship class taught by Álvaro Bañón, and a class on international trade taught by Javier Elizalde. The visiting students were also given the opportunity to find out more about Navarre economics and society through different activities, such as a tour of the Volkswagen plant, a visit to Pamplona cathedral and a sweet tour of the old town’s most famous pastry shops.
Here are some of the comments made by the students after their stay at the University:
Isobel Kelaher, Queensland University of Technology (Australia)
“My best memory of the University of Navarra was the tour we took of the incredible Museum and the fantastic farewell meal we had. I felt extremely lucky to have had such an excellent experience, especially on campus. The University of Navarra has a great deal to offer and I’m happy to have spent a month there and find out for myself.”
Lisa Zhu, Tongji University (Shanghai, China)
“I had a very good time in Pamplona. The activities organized for us by the University were great. I still miss the time I spent in Pamplona, even after I returned to China. I made friends from all over the world. I’m very glad to have had this opportunity to study and spend time in Pamplona and at the University of Navarra. I took away good memories and my own personal growth.”
Taylor Guthrie, Queensland University of Technology (Australia)
“I would highlight how interesting and profound the economics seminars were that we had the privilege to attend in the last week. Coming from Australia, I learned about the European perspective of many topics, which was incredibly enriching. Different aspects really opened my eyes.”
