ICS researcher Javier Sánchez Cañizares, assistant director of the journal ‘Scientia et Fides'

This biannual publication seeks to circulate the research being carried out on the relationship between science and religion

Javier Sánchez Cañizares, a researcher for the Institute for Culture and Society's (ICS) project Mente-Cerebro' (Mind-Brain), is the assistant director of the new magazine Scientia et Fides. This is a biannual publication which proposes to deal in an academically rigorous manner with the research being done in the field of the relationship between science and religion.

Piotr Roszak, an associate professor at the Faculty of Theology of the University of Navarra, and adjunct faculty member of the Faculty of Theology at Nicolaus Copernicus University, is the journal's director.

The contents of Scientia et Fides are offered freely through an open access digital platform supported by the University of Torun. Some articles appear in Polish, some in English and others in Spanish.

Javier Sánchez Cañizares is an associate professor of moral theology and project manager of the Research Group 'Science, Reason and Faith' (CRYF). He holds a PhD in Physics from the Autonomous University of Madrid and a doctorate in Theology from the Pontifical University of the Holy Cross; he was ordained a priest in 2005.

He has also been an assistant professor for the Department of Theoretical Physics of Condensed Matter at the Autonomous University of Madrid. In addition to participating in various European Union research projects, and in several congresses, he is a member of the international research group in Moral Theology, ‘Hypsosis'.  He has also published numerous academic papers on physics, philosophy and theology. His latest book is titled Reason and Faith: the fullness of moral life.
