Opus Dei is a Personal Prelature of the Catholic Church. It was founded in Madrid on October 2nd, 1928, by Sant Josemaría Escrivá de Balaguer. There are currently more than 90,000 members of Opus Dei throughout the world. The central headquarters of Opus Dei are in Rome.
