Disability Support Unit. About the University. University of Navarra
The Disability Support Unit or UAPD as per the Spanish initials, is a body overseen by the Office of the Vice-President for Students. It aims to guarantee access and inclusion under equal conditions of all students.
It seeks to collaborate in the construction of better, more supportive university for everyone in accordance with the guidelines set by Organic Law 4/2007 of 12 April, and the University Student Statute approved by Royal Decree 1791/2010 of 30 December.
The Unit responds to the needs of students’ needs in the following areas:
Information, advice and orientation
Training and awareness
It is part of the SAPDU Network of Support Services for the Students with Disabilities along with 56 Spanish universities.
La UAPD will provide support to academic centres and they will respond to the specific disability needs of undergraduate and postgraduate students in the University once they have completed their registration request.
Individuals who, due to their degree of limitations, need some sort of adaptation to be able to complete their admissions exams at the University, should go to the UAPD to receive the necessary help. To do so, they must fill out the following document (Solicitud de Adaptación para las Pruebas de Admisión) and send it to email@example.com.
The UAPD gives support to the various schools to meet the handicap needs of those enrolled students who have requested it help.
Apart from the resources available in the Scholarships and Financial Aid office, the University of Navarra and the UAPD will keep students informed about the deadlines for the scholarship applications for students with disabilities. These include the following.
The University of Navarra and the Universia Foundation have signed a "Collaboration Agreement for the Loan of Aid from the Universia Foundation's Bank of Support Products" so that students with disabilities can attend university normally.
The beneficiaries of support will be students enrolled at the University of Navarra who have disability equal to or greater than 33% (evidenced by a certificate). They will be able to request the loan of the product for one academic year.
The products will be used exclusively for the development of the university studies in which the beneficiary is enrolled, or of the professional practices to be carried out in connection with these studies.
The process of processing the loan at the University of Navarra will be carried out through the Disability Office. (UAPD)
The library of the University of Navarra offers users with special needs a personalized service to facilitate their access to and use of its resources.
These services may be requested by people with mobility difficulties, hearing or visual impairment, blindness or long hospital stays, duly justified.
The UADP Works conjointly with the international relations coordinators at the University of Navarra and the exchange universities to manage the financial aid, resources, and support that a student may need during their stay.
The UADP completes the following initiatives in the area of workforce inclusion.

In accordance with Organic Law 15/1999, of December 13, 1999, on Data Protection, the Unit for the Attention of Persons with Disabilities, attached to the Vice President for Students of the University of Navarra, will adopt the necessary measures to guarantee that the personal data contained therein is used exclusively for the purposes and functions of public law that it is entrusted with.
