Association of Friends

The Association of Friends was founded in 1960. It is formed of people from all walks of life who seek to assist in the work of sustaining and developing the University.

Since that time the Assocation has promoted personal collaboration and economic aid, with the goal of providing scholarships to students and grants for research, as well and for contributing to the welfare of the University as a whole.

The Friends desire to contribute, with their economic assistance, to developing an educational project which will also aid society.

Therefore, the Association handles assistance for:

- Students. No student should have to abandon his or her studies for lack of economic resources, whether they be from Spain or from developing countries. In addition, Association grants are also offered to graduate students in order to improve their academic formation.

- Research, both pure and applied, in all fields of knowledge. These grants finance research projects which otherwise would be unable to obtain funding.

- University Support and Development. The Association promotes activities intended to benefit the integral formation of the students, and also provides block grants for special infrastructure improvement projects of the University.

The Association of Friends encourages activities of solidarity of those many persons who wish to channel their charitable giving through the University, being conscious of the ideal of service which moved St. Josemaría to found the University 1952.
