 Cultural community projects in Education

The course is mainly practical and experiential. It firstly includes preliminary and fundamental concepts about educational projects in cultural context. It focusses in new trends on participatory arts activities/exhibitions/programming and audience engagement.

The course it aimed at undergraduate and postgraduate students as well as teachers and community projects managers. It  will be lectured by Ruth Sapsed, visiting scholar from the University of Cambridge, and Carmen Urpi, School of Education and Psychology; within a series of intensive workshops concentrated in  1 week (23-26 January).

The course price is 150 euros per person. Certificates will be available on request. (Special prices apply for collaborating schools and students). Attendace must be confirmed at: vminondo@unav.es

Program

Planning learning opportunities in formal and informal contexts

 

  • To share CCI’s first hand knowledge of shaping creative projects in range of contexts (from identifying partners, formulating themes and aims, funding, management, monitoring and evaluation)

  • To introduce theoretical concepts underpinning work

  • To explore ways to design, implement and assess projects

  • To support planning own creative learning projects

  • Remembering one’s own childhood and spaces/places explored

  • CCI’s view of the child/ model for creative practice

  • Where CCI began and how we’ve evolved

  • Fantastical Cambridgeshire and ArtScapers case studies

  • Introducing ideas of exchange - wild exchange games to use for visit to Cathedral?

  • Reflecting on visit – working with children’s ideas as way in

  • Case studies in formal spaces – Friendly Garden with Library project

  • Case studies of how partnerships evolve – Spinney & Love’s Farm  communities

  • Child led – learning – examples of practice – Art and Living: An A – Z for Trumpington; Talking together prompts for Mayfield School nature space

  • Planning for inclusion, ripples, legacy, co-creation and collaboratiom

  • Case studies - Taking Note with whole hospital community; Future Reactive with epidemiologists and children; professional development for Playteam; community engagement with new hospital museum

  • Planning own projects – who to involve, where, provocations, monitoring, evaluation
