The University of Navarra’s School of Economics and Business Administration is among the top 50 universities in the world in the subjects of Accounting and Finance according to QS Rankings by Subject 2017. The School was also ranked between positions 101 and 150 in the world in the subject of Economics.

The School of Economics and Business Administration is now in the top 50 in the subjects of Accounting and Finance, compared to the 2016 edition of the QS Ranking by Subject, where it was ranked between positions 51 and 100. In Economics, for which it was ranked between positions 201 and 250 in 2016, it is now in the top 150.

In total, eleven of the University of Navarra’s subject areas were listed in the ranking. Besides those mentioned above, other subjects ranked among the top 50 in the world were Business and Administration (position 27) and Communication (position 42). The University’s subject of Philosophy and Law was also ranked in the top 100 (between positions 51 and 100). The subjects of Architecture and Pharmacy (between positions 151 and 200) and Medicine (between positions 201 and 250) were also highlighted in this international ranking.

The University of Navarra was also ranked first in Spain in Social Sciences and Management, one of the ranking’s four broad subject areas under which the different subjects are listed. The other three broad subject areas are Arts and Humanities, Engineering and Technology, and Health Sciences.

To prepare this year’s list, the auditing firm Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) evaluated 4,438 universities from all over the world and 1,117 were included in the ranking. Four indicators were used to rank each university: the centre’s academic reputation, employer reputation, citations per paper, and the h-index, which measures the researchers’ scientific production based on the productivity and impact of their published works. QS has been publishing its university rankings since 2004 and has become a global reference for comparing performance in academia.

We’re also proud that the Spanish university system is starting to be ranked among the best in the world.”
