Resumen: Benign pyloric stenosis and gastric outlet obstruction are most commonly caused by peptic ulcer disease. Endoscopic balloon dilation of benign gastric outlet obstruction is a safe, successful, cost-effective, longlasting alternative to surgery and should be the first-line therapy. Patients with recurrent or intractable symptoms of gastric outlet obstruction, despite multiple attempts at endoscopic dilation, should be consid ered for surgical intervention.
