The spring of 1936 several Spanish bullfighters protested for what they believed abusive presence of Mexican bullfighters. Boycotts, strikes and incidents did not solve a problem in which there was nationalism, xenophobia and a growing politicization, widespread by the press. After the war the question resurfaced. The Spanish bullfighters maintained their position, although they constructed a justifying story in accordance with the new regime. But the authorities decided on the margin of public opinion and opted for the agreement with the Mexican bullfighters. Two models of conflict resolution face to face, that of the Popular Front and that of the dictatorship.
En la primavera de 1936 varios toreros españoles protestaron por la que creían abusiva presencia de diestros mexicanos. Boicots, huelgas e incidentes no resolvieron un problema en el que hubo nacionalismo, xenofobia y una creciente politización muy aireadas por la prensa. Tras la guerra resurgió la cuestión. Los toreros españoles mantuvieron su postura, aunque construyeron un relato justificativo acorde con el nuevo régimen. Pero las autoridades decidieron al margen de la opinión pública y optaron por el acuerdo con los toreros mexicanos. Dos modelos de resolución de conflictos frente a frente, el del frente popular y el de la dictadura.
