Bonds, Emotion and Identity

Planned activities

  1. Conference: "Ways of Being Bound: Normativity from Kant to Heidegger" (November 2-3, 2017). This event seeks to address the first of the project's objectives, namely, to examine the phenomenon of bonding (Verbindlichkeit) in general from a philosophical point of view.
  2. Conference: Social bonds and personal identity” (October 25-26, 2018): This conference will take place at the conclusion of the project. Specifically, objectives 2 and 4 will be addressed therein, namely, "to contrast the reflection on bonding with the way in which this phenomenon is presented in relational sociology through the concept of ‘social relationship'" and "to propose a theoretical articulation of the relationship between bonds, emotion and identity."

  3. Internal research team seminars: Six seminars are planned per year and will be led by members of the research team, as well as by guest speakers.
