Biology and Subjectivity in Contemporary Philosophy and Neuroscience
Behavioral disorders and mental health
The Mind-Brain Group is committed to theoretical research with social impact, which is why our research has always maintained a focus on health. Currently, we are working on topics like addictions, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) and the impact of new technologies.
With respect to addictions, in one of our research lines, we seek to determine if frustration acts as a mediational variable between personality traits and dropout and relapse rates found in Project Man’s educational-therapeutic program. It receives funding from the Spanish Ministry of Health. Another research line, funded by the Spanish Ministry of Economy, Industry and Competitiveness, focuses on the study of everyday decisions in people with attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD). Specifically, it studies the aspects that make a prize or reward more attractive in everyday choices and if these same aspects influence people with ADHD equally or differently. Finally, this research group is also interested in studying how new technologies impact the way we understand human beings and how they relate.
