The aim of the Degree in Industrial Technologies Engineering is to ensure that graduates are equipped with the knowledge, techniques, skills and attitudes inherent to the fields of mechanical, electrical and electronic engineering in industrial technologies, which can be summarized in the following general goals:

  1. To ensure that graduates are able to solve multidisciplinary problems based on their own initiative, decision-making, creativity and critical thinking.

  2. To teach students to be able to transmit knowledge, skills and abilities in the field of industrial technologies engineering so they can lead work teams.

  3. To train students to be professionals capable of designing, organizing and managing production and service companies and other institutions in all functional areas and dimensions (technology, organization, finance and human resources) based on an approach strongly focused on entrepreneurship and innovation. 

  4. To ensure graduates can assess, design, start operating, maintain and improve systems, structures, installations, production systems, processes and devices for practical, economic and financial purposes.

  5. To be able to provide an overview of a company or organization that is not limited to merely technical details, but also addresses the organization’s strategic and operating perspectives for the entire value chain based on a total quality approach.

  6. To provide the scientific and technological foundations required for graduates to pursue independent learning or continue with postgraduate studies that enable them to acquire more in-depth knowledge and specialize in different fields of engineering.

  7. To prepare students to become professionals who are able to manage, assess and improve information systems based on information and communication technology.

  8. The degree program should provide a solid foundation in science, technology, operations management, production and business administration that can be easily adapted to solving new problems.

  9. To train students about the social, interpersonal, emotional and work skills required for a multidisciplinary international environment.

  10. To transmit a respectful attitude toward people, job security, the social context and the environment based on the culture of continuous improvement, training and innovation.

  11. To equip students with awareness and technical skills that enable them to promote, organize and implement innovations in processes, products and services.

  12. To ensure graduates have a proactive, entrepreneurial spirit so they can bring new lines of business to the companies they work for and create their own companies.

  13. To assess the importance of managing experience, knowledge and technology as key factors for improving competitiveness in the current context.

  14. To promote the development of the personality in all its dimensions (e.g., scientific, cultural, human) so it manifests itself through increased development of students’ critical capacity and awareness of problems, and leads to an expression of freedom that respects true pluralism, but is also sensitive to manifestations of solidarity and fraternity, and helps create spaces for equality, friendship and living in harmony.

  15. To promote the social values inherent to a peaceable culture by contributing to democratic harmony, respect for human rights and basic principles such as equality and nondiscrimination.
