What is the Practicum?
Practicum is a compulsory course subject in all School of Education and Psychology degree programs. It takes place in the 3rd, 4th and 5th years (in the event of dual degrees). It comprises a practical part in schools and a theoretical part working with a tutor at the University.
What is the goal of the Practicum?
The Practicum meets the need to observe, analyze and become aware of real professional situations; and also pinpoint the solutions required at each point.
The Practicum involves consolidating previously acquired theoretical grounding, interdisciplinary integration of knowledge and development of professional skills and capabilities.
Students can enroll in Practicum subject if they are beginning the subject, they are not retaking subjects for the fifth time or more and they have passed 70% of subjects from the previous academic year (no more than 18 outstanding ECTS).
Before beginning the work placement, and sufficiently far in advance, students will receive confirmation of their place and they will be called to an informative meeting regarding the timetable, tutors from the schools, and on academic tasks and seminars.
