Online video as a tool for communicating science
This research project, directed by Bienvenido León, focuses on the study of online video as a tool for the dissemination of scientific information. The study analyzes the trends and narrative forms used by the online video of scientific contents, taking quality products developed by producers in Spain as well as in other countries as reference. We first attempt to identify some of the new narrative elements that may facilitate the translation of scientific concepts that is interesting and easy-to-understand for a wide range of audiences. Then we attempt to evaluate the scientific rigor of online video that reaches the audience. The project will develop an experimental study of reception so as to evaluate the efficacy of some of the previously identified narrative resources.
