Andrew Waugh  

Andrew Waugh

Driven by a passion for fusing sustainability and design Andrew is a dedicated advocate of engineered timber and encourages clients to look at the beauty and benefits of innovative construction technologies. Known for his hands on approach, and involvement with client and design team throughout the delivery of projects, Andrew retains an integral role on all Waugh Thistleton projects, directing design and pushing boundaries to ensure the highest quality of delivery. 

Andrew has led the practice on award winning schemes from cinemas to synagogues; social housing to offices. He was responsible for the design and delivery of Murray Grove, the project which spearheaded the international movement in tall timber construction, and continues to research from within the practice exploring the possibilities and applications of timber construction. Andrew is visiting professor of research at Sheffield University School of Architecture where he is working with students to research materials and structures. 
     
     
Julen Pérez Santisteban  

Julen Pérez Santisteban

Julen has been with Waugh Thistleton for 12 years.  With a passion for architecture and extensive practical experience, Julen has quickly become a key figure within the practice. His diligent approach and insight into the possibilities of new sites has resulted in some inspirational design solutions that have received accolades from clients and planners.

     
     
José Manuel Cabrero  

José Manuel Cabrero

Graduated in Architecture from the University of Navarra ('00), he started his research career with a PhD in steel connections, directed by Professor Eduardo Bayo.He specialized in timber construction during a postdoc stay in the Technische Universität Dresden (Alemania) with Professor Haller, carried out thanks to a Humboldt grant.

Professor Cabrero is the director of the Wood Chair of the University since its foundation in 2011 and takes part as the Spanish Expert in the European Workteam of Connections of the Eurocode 5 and on the Spanish regulatory subcommittees related to this area.
