Its main task is to carry out industrial projects of applied research and technological development, in collaboration with the Research and Development departments of companies in various sectors (rail, aeronautical, automotive, health, manufacturing, energy or the environment).
CIMA: Center for Applied Medical Research
Its research is based on new biological knowledge the purpose of which is to find therapeutic solutions for patients needs. For this reason, CIMA and the Clinica share a common project: putting the patient at the center of research.
ICS: Institute for Culture and Society
Through rigorous academic research it addresses some of the major challenges of today's world. With the ICS, the University has increased the importance of the Humanities and Social Sciences in research.
ISTUN: Institute of Tropical Health
Its objective is to find solutions for the diagnosis, treatment, prevention and control of diseases in developing countries, as well as to share training and transfer technology to these countries.
CIN: Center for Nutrition Research
It is a basic and applied research body focused on issues related to diet, health, lifestyle and especially on the origin and mechanisms of obesity.
DATAI: Institute of Data Science and Artificial Intelligence
Its mission is training and research in big data. It aims to bring together statistical analysis and data processing projects that are carried out in different schools and services of the University.
BIOMA: Institute for Biodiversity and Environmental Research
Its purpose is to address key issues about the nature and future of the planet. It also aims to share its research with industry, offering services and collaborating with public and private entities that contribute to a sustainable environment.
CEDEJ: Center for Documentation and Research on Josemaría Escrivá de Balaguer
Its objective is to promote knowledge of the history of the founder of Opus Dei, prelates and members of Opus Dei and their apostolic initiatives.
The obtaining of the HR Excellence in Research seal on September 14, 2020, accredits the University of Navarra as an entity committed to quality in the management of human resources in research.
The University of Navarra is an institution has been committed to research in scientific and humanities areas since its inception.
The commitment to research and the desire to improve at all levels has recently led the University to join the European initiatives called the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of researchers.
Following the European Commission's recommendations, in 2016 the University created a working group of professionals from different research areas whose initial task was to carry out an internal analysis on the basis of the principles laid down by the European Charter and the Code of Conduct. This analysis has concluded in a solid diagnosis of the current situation at the University of Navarra and a definition of an Action Plan which will be published soon.
Convinced that its human capital is its most important value, the University of Navarra has proceeded to signing the following endorsement letter, ascertaining its commitment to obtaining the Human Resource Strategy for Researchers (HSR4R) seal of Excellence in the subsequent months.
