The University launches a Master’s Degree in Data Science & Big Data
The Master will be offered in an executive schedule (Friday and Saturday) at the Madrid campus and will allow students to complete their theses in company

The University of Navarra will inaugurate its Master’s Degree in Data Science&Big Data next year. Under the coordination of the Statistics Unit at the Institute for Culture and Society (ICS), this degree will be offered in an executive schedule (Friday and Saturday) at the Madrid campus.
"The digital revolution that Big Data has inspired implies exciting challenges and opportunities for companies and organizations. Consequently, the labor market demands more and more professionals with knowledge of this field," as the Master’s director, Statistics Professor Jesús López Fidalgo, explains.
This degree offers a technical, specific and, at the same time, very practical program: "We seek to provide professionals with tools to perform data collection, preparation, cleaning, analysis and interpretation, and presentation of results, as well as to implement and lead innovative projects."
The faculty includes professors from a variety of University of Navarra schools and centers, such as the School of Economics, the TECNUN School of Engineers, the Center for Applied Medical Research, the School of Communication, as well as professionals from renowned companies and institutions with years of experience in the field.
Professional outcomes in different sectorsThe academic design is divided into four sections, including programming and computing, data analysis, project management and the master's thesis. Students will be permitted to complete the latter with companies associated with the program or in the companies where they already work, in sectors such as consulting, banking, telecommunications, insurance, innovation, etc.
"This degree aims to bring technological reality to students so that they have the opportunity to see first-hand what is going on in the leading and most prestigious international companies," López Fidalgo underlines.
The degree is for professionals that focus on data analysis, whether in companies, foundations, industry, or research... Some of the fields toward which its professional outcomes are aimed include data science, data analysis, big data consultancy, machine learning engineering, big data development, and business analysis or business engineering consultancy, among other fields.
