A new book contains eight studies on Aristotle’s conception of rational action and practical rationality

Action, Reason and Truth. Studies in Aristotle’s Conception of Practical Rationality is the newest book from Alejandro G. Vigo, a professor within the School of Humanities and Social Sciences and a collaborator within the Institute for Culture and Society at the University of Navarra. Peeters Publishers, a prestigious and international academic house, published it.
The volume, which is the result of work that Professor Vigo carried out within ICS, contains eight studies on various aspects of Aristotle’s conception of rational action and practical rationality. Earlier versions were published in journals and other publications in Latin America, Europe and the USA between 1998 and 2011. The majority of them were published in Spanish and German; this book offers an English version for the first time.
According to Professor Vigo, "the texts are related in the sense that they draw on a common source of inspiration and are dependent on each other." In that sense, he stresses that his interpretation seeks to show that the Aristotelian conception "is not just internally consistent and philosophically interesting. It is also capable of entering into fruitful dialogue with a whole range of modern and contemporary views".
