Biomedical Campus

Biomedical Campus

The School of Medicine is integrated with a Biomedical Campus at the University of Navarra that covers interdisciplinary and translational fields of work. Research is carried out at an international level, which fosters academic and social causes and has a direct impact on the student’s education.

• The Medical School’s research is carried out in clinical departments through the university’s hospital, the Clínica Universidad de Navarra. Moreover, basic departments at #MedUNAV develop important lines of research.

• The Center for Applied Medical Research (CIMA) plays a decisive role in biomedical research carried out at the University of Navarra. CIMA focuses on four main areas of work led by professors from the School of Medicine: Cardiovascular Sciences, Gene Therapy, Hepatology, Neurosciences, and Oncology.

• The School of Medicine also promotes the Institute of Tropical Health; a center that conducts basic clinical research in collaboration with other hospitals and university centers in developing countries. Its objective is to find diagnosis solutions, treatments, preventions, and control against frequent diseases.

• Furthermore, the Institute for Culture and Society, which is a multidisciplinary research center, looks for scientific answers and innovative proposals that contribute to solving the main challenges of today's society. Two important projects led by #MedUNAV professors stand out “Education of Human Affectivity and Sexuality” and “Human dignity, Advanced Illness, and Palliative Care.”
