Javier Asensio Salazar (MED’16) was one of ten candidates selected from 80 applicants nationwide. Celera is the first career development service in Spain that aims to identify young people’s talents and equip them with the necessary tools to enter the labor market.

"I especially like that they seek to help you discover your strengthens and identify your weaknesses," explained the graduate.

"My goal is to continue improving as a doctor by pursuing my interest in research, technology and entrepreneurship.” This was pointed out by the Navarre who will soon start his professional practice as a resident in Spain, while at the same time complete a distance learning Master's Degree in Biomedical Engineering from the University College of London.

Javier explains that Celera will be a key pillar in achieving his objectives because it will allow him to connect with experts from very diverse fields. His long term goal is to be part of an interdisciplinary team of experts; that not only seeks to advance the development of medicine, but also make the innovations available to many people in the shortest time possible.

Quality university education

Javier was very grateful for the training he received at the Universidad de Navarra: "One of the advantages is the integral approach to medical training; as it not only seeks excellent clinical training, but also conveys a global vision of medicine through the awareness of other areas adjacent to clinical practice like research."

“Thanks to the hands on learning approach and the various projects, coupled with the support and advice that I received throughout my medical training at the Universidad de Navarra, I know I will have the skills necessary to undergo the Celera program,” stated the graduate.
