Twenty experts from the Integrated Palliative Care – InSup-C research project met at the University of Navarra
The campus hosted this project's 2015 general assembly, which is funded by the European Union and in which ICS's ATLANTES Program participates
The Integrated Palliative Care – InSup-C research project, funded by the European Union, held its 2015 general assembly at the University of Navarra on November 9-10. The University hosted the meeting because of the ATLANTES program's participation in the InSup-C project.
About twenty researchers from academic centers in the Netherlands, Belgium, Germany, the United Kingdom, Hungary, Italy and Spain participated.
Throughout the day, various meetings were held in which experts had the opportunity to exchange ideas and opinions on the research carried out as part of the InSup-C project for the development and promotion of palliative care.
Project researchers agreed on the need to develop "integrated palliative care," meaning that it is essential to achieve ownership and joint efforts of all professionals involved in the process to provide personalized care that accords with each patient's individual needs.
Scheduled to last four years, InSup-C began in 2013 as a research project that brings together a large number of European countries. Among its objectives, it especially aims to find out the best way to provide palliative care to patients with serious diseases that are already in the final stage of their lives.
