Resumen: The article deals with the aesthetic experience of literature on the basis of a lesson example. This should be aimed at the aesthetic perception whereby not only a pleasurable reading is understood, but also a critical examination of the represented reality. This results in productive literary conversations, in which the ambiguity and openness of the text are a prerequisite for applying a multimodal reading as well. An aesthetic judgment also requires the ability to empathize with the language, the characters and situations that the foreign language learner has to develop in order to reach finally a satisfactory understanding
