Education Students at Parliament of Navarra

More than a hundred students took their seat in the Chamber

Students held a plenary session in the Parliament with the title "Living in a Democracy".

More than a hundred first year students of Pedagogy and Pre-school and Primary Education at the University of Navarra held a session in the chamber of the Parliament of Navarra that was chaired by its president, Alberto Catalan.

The plenary debate on the topic "Living in a democracy," is part of the course "Basis of Education" and it formed part of the "Civic Parliament" initiative that seeks to develop programmes of social action in different areas.
The students tried to reach a common understanding on three main issues: what is a democracy and who are the protagonists; what is the key to fostering civic engagement in society; and what impact do university students' actions have in promoting citizenship.

The parliamentarian seats were occupied by 70 students and the public gallery by another 40 students. The course delegates formed part of the presidential table, collaborating by calling up the spokesmen, monitoring the times
