Emotional culture and identity
About us
The inclusion of the emotional element in almost every academic field strongly reflects the active presence of emotions in all spheres of human and social life. Along these lines, the present project aims to diagnose contemporary societies through the lens of the increasing relevance of emotions.
In order to study the nature and function of emotions in social action and the construction of identity, our strategy is twofold:
-
On the one hand, we aim to design a theoretical and conceptual frame which will allow us to study social action, paying close attention to the emotional dimension of the human being
-
On the other hand, we wish to implement applied studies that serve as a documental source as well as proof of the theoretical framework.
Objectives
In this first phase, the objectives of CEMID are:
-
To make a diagnosis of contemporary emotional culture. To this end,

Elaboration of a conceptual and theoretical frame for social analysis through emotions.

-
-
Consolidation of an emergent international and interdisciplinary research group.
-
