History education at the University of Navarra began in 1955 with the aim of providing students with an interdisciplinary education that would enable them to understand the past, interpret the present and thus build the future. The School of Humanities and Social Sciences trains future humanists and offers high-quality training applied to the specific needs of our time.
What sets us apart
A clear objective: to train professionals capable of understanding the modern world with a broad historical perspective, and who bring history and culture to the forefront of society.
A high specialization in techniques for historians: historiographic, bibliographic and cartographic resources, as well as heritage management (archeological and documentary) and web resources.
An attractive range of internship opportunities as a means of achieving early entry to the job market. The Department of History has collaboration agreements with state-owned museums, archives and libraries, as well as international and national companies and organizations, for student internships.
We offer the option of undertaking two degrees in five years: History + Journalism.
International Program. A high percentage of the ECTS credits that make up the study program may be taken in English.
Construction of the Museum University of Navarra, a museum of contemporary art is currently under way. This will be the first Spanish museum to be built within a university, and will house a permanent collection of works by leading contemporary artists while carrying out research and publication activities.
