81 Students from the Medical School’s International Program participated in the 2017 Summer Course
This year the fourth Summer Course took place at Newcastle University
From June 24th to 30th, 81 students from the Medical School at the Universidad de Navarra participated, at Newcastle University, in the International Summer Course: an intensive one week elective program that is designed to give students a global medical education.
First- and second-year students from the International Program attended classes in English by invited international professors Dr Carlos de Andrea (Universidad de Navarra), who taught Next Generation Histopathology, and Dr Marta San Luciano (University of California, San Francisco), who taught Movement Disorders in Neurology.
The Summer Course also offered other activities outside the classroom, such as a tour of the city of Newcastle and its university campus and medical school. In addition, Dr Stephen Jones, Director of Medical Studies at Newcastle university, gave an informative talk about the steps required to become a doctor in the UK and how to do a residency there.
