The University, first in Spain in Teaching and Learning and second in Research, according to the CYD ranking
The study of the Knowledge and Development Foundation places Navarra as the second-best autonomous community in performance of its universities.

The University of Navarra is the first in Spain in “Teaching and Learning”, according to the CYD ranking presented by the Knowledge and Development Foundation. The Navarra academic center obtains high performance in 8 of the 9 indicators evaluated in this area, the same as the Autonomous University of Madrid. According to CYD's 2019 report, it stands out in the indicators of master's graduation rate and degree, student achievement and success rate.
The University of Navarra also obtains a second position in the “Research” area, with good results in indicators such as its ability to attract external funds, publications per professor and the impact of its academic works, among others. In this area, they share a score with the Polytechnic University of Catalonia, the Rovira i Virgili University and the Polytechnic University of Valencia.
According to the study, which includes 36 indicators of academic performance, the University of Navarra is the third best in Spain in global results, behind the Autonomous University of Barcelona and the Autonomous University of Madrid.
This report, the highest ranking of Spanish universities, analyzes in this edition 73 academic centers, 23 fields of knowledge and 2,522 degrees and master's degrees. To do this, it divides the 36 indicators into five areas: teaching and learning, research, knowledge transfer, international orientation and contribution to regional development.
The Navarra academic center obtains in the ranking a total of 24 indicators of higher performance, 7 indicators of intermediate performance and 3 of lower. Thus, it ranks as the first in Spain in “Teaching and Learning”, with 8 indicators of higher performance; second in “Research”, with 6 indicators of higher performance; and fourth in Knowledge Transfer, with 6 indicators of higher performance.
By areas, in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics), analyzed in more detail in this edition, the University of Navarra stands out in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering and Industrial Engineering.

The four autonomous communities with the highest number of high-performance indicators are Navarra, Catalonia, Madrid and the Basque Country. The Foral Community is in second place, with 24 indicators of higher performance and 10 of intermediate performance.
