Governance students discuss European partnerships at the Youth Mediterranean Dialogue
Three students from the School of Economics and Business Administration work alongside 90 young people from 35 different countries

Pedro Robalino, María Fe Portugal and Elisa Molero, second-year students in the Degree in Economics & Leadership and Governance, took part in the Youth Mediterranean Dialogue 2016 in Madrid, which was organized by the Spanish Youth Atlantic Treaty Association.
Students from the School of Economics and Business Administration represented Germany’s position at the week-long Youth Mediterranean Dialogue 2016 (YMD), a simulation of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO).
Students worked alongside 90 young people from 35 different countries on international security issues involving NATO member countries. The topics discussed at this year’s YMD included strategies to combat terrorism, war scenarios in the Middle East and international defense.
Besides participating in the debate and negotiation sessions, the students also visited the Spanish Center for National Defense Studies (CESEDEN), where Rafael Sánchez Ortega, the Center Director, shared information with them on international security, collective defense and high-risk decisions. Students also visited El Goloso Military Base, where they took part in simulations of attacks by military tanks on high-risk areas.
