The University of Navarra School of Nursing has strengthened its international education pathway, the International Nursing Program, by signing a placement exchange agreement for students with the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences at Northumbria University. Consequently, beginning in this academic year, 2014-2015, students from the Spanish university will carry out their practice in Newcastle, United Kingdom.

The agreement was signed by Cristina García Vivar, Associate Dean of Research at the School of Nursing, University of Navarra, and Peter Francis, Pro Vice-Chancellor of Learning and Teaching at Northumbria University.

As the agreement sets out, the partnership has been established to "promote understanding between the academic centers, strengthen cultural ties, and to broaden student experience and horizons".

The exchange agreement is part of the subject International Clinical Practice for which students must complete a month's training abroad during the summer between second and third or third and fourth years.
