Manuel Casado, a professor at the University of Navarra and corresponding academic to the Real Academia Española (RAE), has been appointed chairman of the Committee on the National Agency for Quality Assessment and Accreditation (ANECA) that certifies professors in the Arts and Humanities, within the Academy program. Professor Casado is principal investigator of the Public Discourse project of the Institute for Culture and Society (ICS) and teaches in the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters at the Pamplona campus.
In addition to his positions at the University of Navarra, Professor Casado has served as a faculty member at the University of Seville, the Autonomous University of Barcelona, Coruña and UNED. He has also taught courses and lectures in other Spanish and foreign academic centers.
He is a member of the editorial boards, academic committees and advisory boards of a dozen journals.
At the University of Navarra, he has held various positions such as Dean of the School of Information Sciences (1984-1990), the Vice President for Faculty Affairs (1997-2007), the director of the Department of Hispanic Linguistics and Modern Languages (2001-2009) and the director of the EUNSA Editorial Board for the Linguistics Collection (2000).
