Resumen:
The article examines the adjective geotico, applied to certain magic spells in Lope de Vega's El peregrino en su patria, and proposes that it is a misprint of goiticos, a word derived from goecia or goetia, a kind of magic well known in treatises and commentaries on the subject from Antiquity to the seventeenth century. With the support of parallel texts, the article suggests an amendment and an explanation for geoticos (goeticos), a term which has been misinterpreted or ignored in successive editions of Lope's work
