TiMeDoc Symposium 2014
TiMeDoc Symposium 2014, an international event organized by our research group "Time and Memory in Contemporary Audiovisual Non-Fiction", took place in the University of Navarra on the 23rd and 24th of June.
Phil Rosen (Brown University) opened the Symposium with a presentation on time and history in the work of Kracauer. Lourdes Esqueda Verano (University of Navarra) then spoke about time in André Bazin. The first day's sessions came to a close with Malin Walhberg's (Stockholm University) talk on voice in the construction of memory. The second day began with a session by Josep María Català (Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona) on the construction of the event in documentary cinema. Then, Efrén Cuevas (University of Navarra) dealt with the archive and its appropriation in documentary films, focusing on home movies. Sonia García López (Universidad Carlos III) addressed memory work in animated documentaries. Finally, Stefano Odorico (Leeds Trinity University) focused on memory in interactive documentaries.
