Society's understanding of palliative care has room for improvement. Although the World Health Organisation highlighted palliative care as a human right, many people still lack access to this crucial form of treatment. The paucity of understanding and social discussion surrounding palliative care has, moreover, negatively impacted its development and implementation. This study therefore aims to construct a strategy that will empower a specific community to solve their own palliative care-related misunderstandings. Using Participatory Action Research and Design Thinking methodologies and adopting the strategy of Public Engagement in Responsible Research and Innovation, a design group worked for three months through five virtual focus groups. Moving through the phases of empathizing, defining, ideation, prototyping, and testing, the design group generated 33 ideas to address palliative care-related problems. Ideas related to self-learning, the use of technology, and the exchange of personal experiences are highlighted as innovative ways to promote palliative care. The design group adopted a variety of strategies, used disruptive tools, and created and tested rapid prototypes to discover novel solutions. This method of working, centred on interdisciplinarity and creativity, presents an efficient way to involve the members of a community in solving their own problems.

The task of developing a new teaching methodology to train young designers is not an easy one. Given the nature of the discipline, design education must deal with numerous complex and specific aspects in constant change: the mastery and management of creative processes; the balance between strong technical knowledge and good formal capacity; the tension between the application of industrial processes and the handling of artisanal techniques; the capacity to know the updated demands of a humanity in constant change; or the need to develop a rich - and critical - memory of project references. This, together with the current technological and digital paradigm, constantly changing, makes the formation of the designer a completely open debate. How, then, can a good design teaching strategy be designed?

With the arrival of modernity, treatises and manuals were abandoned, giving way to histories, narratives, stories that could explain and justify the approach and formal evolution of buildings. The role of photography in this context became fundamental. In 1935, the Austrian photographer Margaret Michaelis captured, through a series of photographs, the recently inaugurated weekend homes in the Garraf, designed by the GATEPAC architects Josep Torres Clave and Josep Lluis Sert. The study of these images allows us to value the contribution of the work of the catalan architects in their interest in carrying out modern architecture with references to the popular and rural Mediterranean architecture. Through the construction of 3 weekend homes, defined from the combination of the same recognisable elements, the architects configured an architecture, that today can only be visited in Margaret Michaelis ' s photographs. The aim of this work is to contribute to the recovery and enhancement of her point of view, anonymous and scarcely recognised until the time. Published in the magazine A.C: Documentos de Actividad Contemporanea-exhibited after Gropius or Helen and Szymon Syrkus works- only some of these photographs will travel in time and become a reference of interest among architects in the following decades, until our days. The current state of the buildings, and the remarkable changes on their configuration and context nowadays, make the photographs taken in 1935 a relevant testimony for the historiography of modern architecture, and can be considered its last reality.

This article will study the research work done on the rural architecture by Erwin Heilbronner during his stay in Ibiza. After his contact with the Central European circles of art and architecture, the German architect and painter found in Ibiza something more than a refuge. Once arrived and installed, Heilbronner started to visit the rural areas of the Balearic Islands, always carrying his camera and notebook, carrying out an exhaustive analysis of the peasant houses scattered throughout the territory. His graphic, photographic (partly unpublished) and written discourse about the island's rural architecture, can be considered one of the first typological studies on this particular Mediterranean architecture in modern terms. Based on the reference to some of those theories on typology written during the nineteenth, twentieth and twenty-first century - Quincy, Argan, Rossi, Moneo, Forty, ... -, this article seeks to assess the value of Heilbronner's contribution between 1935 and 1936.

The idea of modernity and its formalisation is deeply rooted in Mediterranean culture, not only in terms of formal and material configuration but also as concerning the human approach of architecture to site and culture. Throughout history, popular Mediterranean architecture has mainly been developed only by their users or by artisans; it is a perfect example of understanding buildings as an extension of human life, habits, and sensibility to landscape and climate. This point of view of the popular has commonly been seen by early modern and avant-garde architects as a landmark, or as a prelude to a new and international architecture ¿ a perfect example of integration of popular culture into the most orthodox and theoretical discourses and theories. Josep Lluis Sert ¿ one of the most important Spanish architects in early years of modernism ¿ and the Austrian Bernard Rudofsky ¿ who visited many times the Spanish Mediterranean area looking for vernacular references ¿ worked with these principles to settle the theoretical arguments understand modernity through history.
