Ángel Arrese Reca

Ángel Arrese is Professor of Marketing, and Journalism in the School of Communication at the University of Navarra, where he teaches Marketing Management and Economic Journalism. He has been Vice-Dean of Research and Postgraduate Studies at the School of Communication, and Director of the Doctoral Programme. He has also been Director of the journal Comunicación y Sociedad, of the Department of Marketing and Media Management and Deputy Director of the Master's Degree in Media Management (MGEC). He is currently Coordinator of the Degree in Marketing. His research focuses on marketing aspects of media markets, and on economics and financial journalism,. He has published, among other works, the following books: La identidad de The Economist (1995), Economic and Financial Press (2001), Prensa económica. De la Lloyd's List al wsj.com (2003), ¿Interesa la economía? Economía, medios y ciudadanía (2008), and (with Alfonso Vara), Fundamentos de periodismo económico (2011); He has añso edited or coordinated other books such as Time and Media Markets (2003), Empresa Informativa y Mercados de la Comunicación. Estudios en Honor del profesor Alfonso Nieto Tamargo (2004), and Periodismo económico. He has also published several articles in academic journals, among others, Journalism, Journalism Studies, Journalism Practice, Discourse & Society, The International Journal on Media Management, and Communication & Society.
Professor Arrese has been visiting professor at several universities in Spain and abroad, including Ramón Llull University (Barcelona), University of Salamanca (Salamanca), University of North Carolina and University of North Texas (USA), International Institute of Social Sciences (Sao Paulo, Brazil), Austral University (Buenos Aires, Argentina), University of La Sabana (Bogotá, Colombia), University of Piura (Piura, Peru).
He is a member of the Editorial Boards of the Journal of Media Business Studies, Palabra Clave, Cuadernos de Información, and has served on the boards of the Journal of Media Economics, Comunicación y Sociedad. He is a member of the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC), the International Association for Media and Communication Research (IAMCR), the International Communication Association (ICA), the European Media Management Association (EMMA) and the European Communication Research and Education Association (ECREA).
He has been a contributor to Expansión, to the think tank Institución Futuro and is a consultant for Innovation. International Media Consulting Group.
