Medical students at the Universidad de Navarra receive a solid theoretical and conceptual teaching methodology that is combined with extensive training through medical clerkships. The Medical School’s affiliated clinical rotations provide students a diversified opportunity to practice and learn in local and national health care centers, as well as in general and specialized hospitals, and primary care units.
The Clínica Universidad de Navarra in Pamplona is approximately 75,000 m2 and is comprised of 400 beds, 15 operating rooms, ICUs for both adults and pediatrics, 10 specialization areas, and 50 different medical departments. All analytical, radio diagnostic, medical, or surgical treatment tests are performed in the hospital. The Clínica Universidad de Navarra was the first hospital in Spain to be accredited by Joint Commission International and is a reference private clinic in the north of Spain for transplants. In 2017, the Clínica Universidad de Navarra opened a new state-of-the-art hospital in Madrid.
The CHN includes a thousand beds and a total workforce close to 6,000 professionals, grouped into 43 clinical services. It registers an annual volume of more than 40,000 admissions, 33,000 surgical procedures, and more than 750,000 consultations.
CHN is a public reference hospital for the citizens of Pamplona and the entire Navarra Region.Public regional hospital and reference center for the area of Estella (mid-south of Navarra). It belongs to the Public Health System of Navarra. It offers 30 different medical areas, including emergency rooms.
Family Medicine centers managed by the Public Health System of Navarra, comprise of 28 reference clinics in the region and offer nursing and medical students practical training opportunities. The center network annually attends to an estimated 1.800.000 general medical consultations and 400.000 cases related to pediatrics.
The Mental Health Network has a total of13 centers distributed around the region, which are managed by the regional Health Department of Navarra.
Founded over 75 years ago, the San Juan de Dios Hospital in Pamplona and Tudela is a private non-profit health center specializing in subacute hospitalization - half stay (palliative care, internal medicine, pluripatological, geriatrics, chronic brain damage, rehabilitation, clinical psychology, and convalescence care), home care for palliative care of cancer and non-cancer, surgery services, and rehabilitation.
Clínica San Miguel is a private medium-sized clinic founded more than 30 years ago. It is organized around 25 medical services and supported by 160 medical doctors.
