Jesús Donaire is a PH.D. Architect, curator and professor of architecture. He graduated from the School of Architecture of Madrid Polytechnic University. Thanks to a Fulbright scholarship, he was awarded a Master of Science Degree in Advanced Architectural Design by the Graduate School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation, Columbia University in New York, with an Honour Award for Excellence in design and a William Kinne Fellows Prize. He was awarded with the 2015 Rome Prize in Architecture by the Spanish Royal Academy in Rome.
He has been awarded with several international prizes, such as the International Interior Design Association Prize, IIDA in Chicago, the COAM Award in Madrid and the Jury and Popular Awards in the first edition of the Architizer A+Awards in New York. His work has been published internationally and exhibited at the 13th edition of the Venice Biennale and at the 3rd edition of the Lisbon Architecture Triennale.
He is the curator and designer of the “DOMUSae, Spaces for Culture” exhibition and the associate curator and designer of the “YAS, Young Architects of Spain” exhibition, among others. Since 2013 he is Secretary of the BigMat International Architecture Award.
Jesús Donaire Architecture + Communication office is based in Madrid. The wide range of interests of the office spans from architecture projects, including new construction, interiors and ephemeral architecture, to those related to the diffusion of architecture, including curatorial, event management and editorial work.
