Insurance for Students
Student insurance coverage from the National Institute of Social Security is offered to Spanish students, as well as those foreign students who are legally resident in Spain, who are less than 28 years of age, and registered in an academic program recognized by the Ministry of Education and Science (University-accredited degree programs--"títulos propios"--do not meet this requirement). This coverage is obtained upon registering for classes, and no separate application is required.
Coverage
The basic coverage offered by the Student Insurance program is for “school-related accidents” , i.e. any injury which a student suffers while on campus or while involved in a University-sponsored activity off-campus, or during travel between the home and campus. Medical consultations for common diseases are not covered.
The health care offered by the Student Insurance program is obtained from the University of Navarra Hospital (Avda. Pío XII, 36) or from the Clínica San Fermín (Avda. de Galicia, 2-A), in Pamplona. More information: http://www.seg-social.es/inicio/ or from the Student Aid Office (Central Building).
For students studying for certain University-accredited degree programs, the University of Navarra has contracted a group insurance policy which offers limited coverage. Contact: Administrative offices of the School or Center in which the student is registered.
