Research Laboratories
The laboratories are
centers of applied research
Students of the three licentiate degrees offered by the
School of Communication may begin to work in the field
of communication, not only in different areas of the media
itself, but also in the applied research centers set up
by the School. The purpose of these research centers is
two-fold: to allow students to make contact with those
who will shortly be their professional colleagues, and
to explore and develop the use of new technologies for
communication.
El
Estudio (The Studio) is the research
laboratory associated with the licentiate
degree in Advertising and Public Relations.
A wide variety of workshops is held there,
the oldest and most important of which is
the workshop on Creative Advertising organized
by the School of Communication’s
teaching staff. The success of the workshop
is reflected in the Drac Novell first-prize
awards that have been won, and the second
prize awarded at the Cannes Advertising Festival
(Young Talent section).

The MMLab (Multimedia Communication Laboratory) is
an inter-departmental center of academic and applied
research into digital communication. The impact of digital
technology on different forms and means of communication,
as well as the evolution of new communication systems
and regulatory codes, is explored in both theoretical
and practical terms. Two of the School’s publications
are also coordinated in the Multimedia Communication
Laboratory: Boletín
MMLab,
an online publication, and the School’s website, www.unav.es/fcom. |
