International Conference
of
Communication
The first International Conference
of Communication was convened in 1986, as a meeting- point
between media professionals and university teachers and
researchers, to enrich professional practice in journalism
and to stimulate greater academic debate. In 2002, the
Conference was re-launched as the International Communication
Congress.
The congress is organized by the School of Communication
at the University of Navarra, and has become a point of
reference for all those working in the media industry.
The format of the congress has remained unchanged since
the beginning: presentations and lectures by guest speakers,
round-table discussions and public debates.
Approximately 400 people participate in the Congress every
year, including teaching staff and students from over 40
universities throughout the world. The International Coference
of Communication recently celebrated its 20th
anniversary, and the enthusiasm of its organizers to contribute
in meaningful ways to the training and education of media
professionals has not dimmed.
