Why? |

» The means for attaining this objective are the quality of our teaching, and the personalized attention we provide to our students via individual academic advising.
» This personal attention also contributes to the integral formation of our students, which is one of the objectives that all universities aspire to, and which has been a part of the mission of the University of Navarra since it was founded.
» Currently, one of the needs of all universities is the development of professional skills which complement the knowledge provided by the degree programs.
What is it for? |
» The advisor offers the student information, formation and orientation in the distinct aspects of university life.
» The advising will cover distinct aspects, including:
- Improving the student's intellectual preparation and academic performance.
- Develop the student's professional profile and personal aptitudes.
- Motivate the student in his or her own educational process.
- Facilitate access to the working world.
- Promote creativity, self-guided learning, and responsibility.
- Orient the student in taking academic and professional decisions
How? |
» During the first year of studies, the Director of Student Affairs of each School will assign each student a faculty member as their advisor.
(Via the Administrative Offices of the School, you may request a change in advisor, if necessary)
» Although the frequency of the appointments is up to the decision of the student and the advisor, the effectiveness of academic advising depends on its continuity. It is advisor, therefore, that the student and advisor meet once a month (9 appointments per academic year).
» In order to aid in advising, the University has developed a calendar which indicates the topics which are recommended for discussion during each stage of the student's degree program
» The advising appointments may be arranged upon the initiative of the student or the advisor, and it is also up to them to set the duration of the appointments.
