How do I apply for a subsidy?

The information in this section will assist you in the process of searching for funding for your project ideas. If you can't find what you are looking for, you can contact the Research Management Service directly.

  • The process of searching for funding

When researchers need funding to carry out a research project, establish a network or organize an event related to their research field, they must look for opportunities that will allow them to obtain the funds required to achieve this.

    The process consists primarily of:

    • Identification of funding opportunities at all levels (regional, national and international), from both public and private bodies.

    • Analysis of the requirements of each call for applications and assessment of the possibility of submitting a proposal.

    • Preparation of the proposal: scientific report, budget, additional documentation, etc.

    • Submission to the awarding body: administrative procedures.

    • Follow-up of the proposal until a final decision has been reached.

  • Who can assist me in this process?

One of the roles of the Research Management Service is to provide support for researchers in the process of searching, analyzing and submitting proposals for funding, both in public (European Commission, ministries, Regional Government of Navarre, etc.) and private calls for applications. In order to achieve this, it has two departments whose coordinators can advise you at all times:

  • Personal coordinators

Each coordinator in the Department of National Calls for Grant Applications is assigned a University department. This means that the researchers in each department have a single contact person who is responsible for two key aspects:
    • Advising them on searching for funding opportunities and submitting proposals.

    • Managing, in administrative and financial terms, all public and private subsidies awarded by national and regional bodies and foundations.

Having one coordinator take responsibility for the subsidies of all researchers ensures that the management process is coordinated efficiently, the expenses are managed in an integrated way and, most importantly, the researchers receive better service.

  • How can I find out about current funding opportunities?

Information on funding opportunities is emailed using distribution lists prepared by the International Project Office and the Department of National Calls for Grant Applications.
