Policy

Access

  • The Library is open to students, professors, administrative and service personnel, postgraduate students at the University, and users qualifying under partnership agreements who certify their status. Students are not allowed to access the Researcher Room.

  • University ID cards are non-transferable and require the holder to comply with current policy and act in accordance with it.

Control

  • Whenever requested, users must show the proper identification document. Upon exiting, if requested by the Library Services staff, users must show their bags and any books they are carrying with them.

Bibliographic Information

Librarians are always available to guide users in looking up bibliographic information and help them with searches. They can also help with any questions or concerns regarding the operation of the Library, locating documents, etc.

Consulting and using the bibliographical collections

  • Users must treat books, journals, maps, CDs, DVDs and other library materials with the utmost care; they are responsible for keeping them in good condition while they are checked out and must inform Library Services personnel of any damage they observe in the materials they use. Under no circumstances are underlining and making notes in the margin allowed, even in pencil.

Borrowing Books

  • Borrowing books is restricted to those who are associated with the University. In exceptional cases, the Library may lend materials to people from outside the University as deemed appropriate.

  • Periodicals and books labeled "excluidos de préstamo" in the catalogue may not be borrowed. Materials in the process of being cataloged and those displayed on the new arrivals shelf are also unavailable for borrowing.

The following are prohibited:

  • Talking.

  • Smoking.

  • Consuming any kind of food or drink.

  • Using mobile phones.
