Additional information about international students
A) Students from the following countries will have access to free healthcare at public hospitals and health centers:
Countries in the European Economic Area: Germany, Belgium, Denmark (excluding Greenland), France, Greece, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Portugal, United Kingdom (including Gibraltar), Austria, Finland, Iceland, Norway, Sweden, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, Slovenia, Hungary, Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Cyprus and Malta.
Countries with which there exists a Bilateral Agreement: Andorra, Brazil and Chile. For citizens of Peru, Morocco and Tunisia, access is provided only for those who work in Spain and temporarily return to their country (for vacations, short stays, etc.)
Depending on your country of origin, you must present your European Health Card or a document certifying your entitlement to public healthcare issued by the corresponding Agency in your country.
B) Students from countries outside the European community that are not listed in the previous section or who are not recognized as being entitled to healthcare in their country of origin:
Navarre Health Service: you may apply for public healthcare, in accordance with the provisions of Statutory Law 8/2013, as long as you are a registered resident in a municipality in Navarre. Applications are to be submitted to the Individual Health Card Unit (Plaza de la Paz, s/n, 4ª planta / 31002 Pamplona) with the corresponding documentation.
San Sebastián Campus:
Royal Decree 16/2012 establishes that persons with a study permit must have health insurance by their own means and therefore shall never be granted healthcare under limited income plans or as beneficiaries of other policyholders.
C) As a last resort, the University of Navarra suggests the following private and voluntary insurers:
